Prophetic Edge International

“Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honour except in his own country, among his own relatives,  and in his  own house.” Now He could do no mighty work  there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them.” – Mark 6:4

I have witnessed a concerning pattern recently of a lack of honour in the church – this grieves the Holy Spirit because honour sets the platform for the supernatural. When we instill a culture of dishonour, we disqualify ourselves for His glory to be released. We are a royal priesthood and by virtue of our royalty, our culture should reflect honour. We expect the Lord to open the heavens and pour out His spirit in atmospheres filled with backbiting, jealousy, disobedience, and slander, but sweet waters cannot flow from a polluted well. Honour speaks of esteem and value! I firmly believe that we place value upon that which we perceive as having great worth.

The life of Jesus shows us that where honour is lacking, glory cannot flow. He was dishonoured in his hometown, therefore the Son of God could not release virtue. This being the case, how do we expect an atmosphere of miracles, signs and wonders where dishonour abides? The Glory of God reveals the atmosphere of heaven and heaven has a culture of honour. We will not release heaven until we learn to value one another, allowing Holy Spirit to envelop our hearts with love, submission, and obedience. When our hearts are pure, honour flows freely, but when we are wounded we will fail to walk in this grace. In 1 Peter 2:17 Peter educates us about the importance of showing honour towards others, God, and the authorities who govern us. The Word teaches us that out of the abundance of our hearts, our mouth speaks. What does your words, actions and thoughts reveal concerning a culture of honour in your life? Walk in Honour and His glory will be your portion!
